OMG 5 DOLLARS!

Hello everyone welcomes to another post. This is again about Tane Mahuta, this week we cleaned up the compost bin and also cleaned up places near the edge of our school. We had to get a plastic bag and reuse them also use gloves to keep our selves clean. While we were cleaning people found worms, centipedes and spiders, I agree it was really cool. After that we washed our hands, that was after round 1 of picking rubbish up. I have got a picture of how much rubbish we got and it was a lot. Now, this was only at the compost bin, how many do you think are there in the whole school?

That's a lot, right? Anyways after that, we had a break/interval and then we were back to work this time we were cleaning the backfield, and there was a lot of rubbish inside the bushes. I even went inside, I probably picked 50 to 60 rubbish. Anyways after that, we moved to the edge of the school, and amazing things happened. So we were picking rubbish and my friend found a $5 dollar note, she told the teacher, but the teacher didn't take it so she got the privilege of keeping it. Someone also found a phone and an apple phone case.  We covered a lot of space and also picked a lot of rubbish. All in all, we had a great day and big achievements. Anyways that is all, hope you have a great day. Bye!

Beautiful Nature.......

Hello lovely people, welcome to another post. This post is about some amazing activities we are doing at school. So every Wednesday we have Community Projects like, Ambassador, Health Promotion Leaders, Student Council etc, also we get to do some other activities the include our passion this was optional but I wanted to do dance. Anyways moving if you weren't in one of the activities you will be doing some other activities involving the community and improving how our school looks.

So in my group/classes, we did a community project called Tane Mahuta. On the first Wednesday, we looked at the school's backyard basically where are the gardens are, we got to pick plums to see cool trees that hold juicy and delicious fruit. So then we checked the parts of the school we haven't seen before and think of ways to improve those spots. These places have dried grass, rubbish, we even visited a compost bin at the back of the tennis court which had so much rubbish in it. Then we went back to the classroom and gathered up some ideas to make the perfect paradise and the world better.  Anyways here are a few of our ideas!

  • Colourful Flowers
  • Trees
  • Fountain/Flowing Water, sea life can grow in (little fish)
  • Hammock
  • Tables (Made by students)
  • Birdhouse
  • Fruits that are to be eaten
  • Shade, when there are hot days student can hang out on the place.
  • Plant native trees
So that's all my ideas. This post was meant for last week, this is just to fill in the things you might not know.

Let's Dance! (Certificate #2)

Hello, amazing people! I have finished my second certificate and it was the dance party. I got inspired my friend to do this since she did this and it was very cool! Anyways this was in the Hour of Code if you didn't know. In this program, we had to create a bunch of commands and make the characters dance or do an action.

I learned many things like how to make a character dance or appear on the screen. I have also recorded a video where the sprites/characters dance and have fun.

Here are my certificate and my progress!

This was really fun to do and if you have time you can do it, you can learn to code and also learn some computer science.

CONTINUE THE CRICKET!

Hello, amazing people, today I am posting the final writing for the rules for Continuos Cricket. I would like to thank my friend(s) for giving great feedback to improve my writing/rules. I have edited the rules and added more rules. Anyways here is my final draft!
Continuous Cricket Rules

Written by: Lyan De Guzman

Object

The object of the game is by hitting the ball and running, your team must get more than the other team.

Players

The class is divided into two groups.

Equipment

We are using the following Kiwi Cricket equipment:
  • 2x bats
  • 2x balls
  • 1x full wicket set (a stand and 3x wickets)
  • 2x spare wickets
  • 1x wicket stand

Scoring

Once you hit the ball, you must run into a side, you also need to return before the ball is thrown to the wickets. So that the batter won’t hit the wickets, and that means you won’t be able to go out.

Winning

You can win by getting the most runs, even if you did not hit the ball you can still run.

Rules

  • You can get someone out by catching the ball (if hit) on the full, or if the ball bounces once you have to catch it with one hand.
  • You have to switch the baller (the person who throws a ball) and the batter.
  • The teams must be divided and have an equal amount of students.
  • You must run even if you don’t hit the ball.
  • You have to run one way.
  • You have to throw underarm.
  • There has to be a wicketkeeper and a baller, each has to change to let everyone play.
  • The batting has to be at least 2-3 metres away.
  • The bowler must stay in the balling place, while the other players get the ball to pass to the baller.
  • If you get 3 people from the batting team out the batting team and bowling team must swap, and if the bowling team gets 3 people out from the batting team they again have to swap positions.
  • If you run you must put your bat over the wicket which is laid on the ground on each side of the main wickets.
  • Make sure to have fun!
  • Everyone must commit to playing the game.
  • If your team gets out and get back again you must stay in your previous position.
  • The winning team is the people who have the most runs.
  • Only the bowler can get the batter out.
  • To get the bowler out quicker, the fielding team must quickly get the ball and pass it to the bowler.
  • The fielding team must spread out so that they can catch the ball and get the batter out easier.
  • The bowler must be 7 metres away from the batter.
Reflective Comment: I personally think I did a good job with remembering all the rules and describing how to win, score and the objective of the game. Though the feedback wasn't enough (for me) I still think I have improved just a little bit.

MY BABY FROG!!!!

Hello wonderful people, yesterday we did Japanese and it was so fun we made origami and we learnt how to ask people where they lived in Japanese. These are some words we learnt:

The highlighted parts are the meaning of the Hiragana/Katakana. Can you see the pattern?

どこ すんでいます
Doko ni sunde imasu ka?
Where do you live?

クライストチャーチすんでいます。
Kuraisochaachi ni sunde imasu.
I live in Christchurch.

とうきょうすんでいます
Toukyou ni sunde imasu.
I live in Tokyo

オーストラリアすんでいます。
Oosutoraria ni sunde imasu.
I live in Australia.

日本
Nihon
Japan

ニュージーランド
Nyuujirando
New Zealand

The two one of the left is actually a swan but I messed up so I turned it on its side. But both of the swan's paper's are from Japan.

The Hour of Code (Certificate #1)

Hello, lovely people welcome to another post today, I went on an amazing website called The Hour of Code. It is a very cool website where we learn to code, it has many activities and videos you can learn from. My friend and I just finished an activity and it was about Minecraft we had to tell the characters what to do and we had to go over obstacles. It was a very fun and productive experience.

There were a lot of different activities you could pick from and the activities are very cool!

After I completed the first activity I got a certificate and a page that tells me how I've done.

As you can see on the title I said that this was Certificate #1, this was because there is going to be a lot more! Anyways stay tuned and have a lovely day!

Cricket Continuous?

Hello lovely people, I am very sorry to say that you have to see another post but here we are and there will be more. Anyways I have been lazy, but I'm alive, anyway, for today's post I will be telling you about the rules for Continuous Cricket.

So basically what I am saying is we have to retell the rules, how to win, objective of the game, how many players in a team, equipment, and how to score. For the writing, we had to do procedure writing and basically, that means write how the games work and procedure of the game.

Anyways here is my writing/first draft, it basically like filling out an answer sheet. If you know any more rules about Continuous Cricket, please do not hesitate to comment and tell me your feedback.

Reflective Comment: I think I did with remembering some of the rules, since a tenth of it are added things from my teachers list. But on top of that, I think I did  a good job. Next time I should have a more descriptive sentence.
