WHAT?! Gello, fellow views, I have a wonderful post for you to see. So today I will be talking to you about the language on what they kind of words people said in 1920. this was actually for our passion projects, we had to create a conversation with our character and someone else from the cast. So I will firstly list you some of the Slang Phrases. Get buckled up and let's go!!

Here are some of my favourites:

"Bank's Closed!" Meaning: When you tell people to stop making out.

Cake - Eater: It is referring to a ladies man.

"Go chase yourself!" Meaning: "Get out of here!"

Handcuff: Engagement Ring

Know your onions: To know what's up or what's going on.

Tomato: A woman

Okay now for the conversations, (this will be in 1920's style so don't tell me that it's crazy you have been warned!!) so my character is Bangles, as someone of you may know from my recent blog post. I will be having a conversation with Tallulah who is the captain of the dancing girls, which I am in. Let us get started!

Bangles: Okay, Tomatoe's bank's closed!
Tallulah: But, Bangles it was only a cash!
Bangles: Anyways have you gotten your handcuff from Fat Sam.
Tallulah:  No, not yet, he is too ossified and busy to but one.
Bangles: Well that's heartbreaking, no wonder why you looked half seas over.
Tallulah: Bangles! Don't you call me that I always look Hotsy - Totsy.

Okay, so to me that was somehow weird, but I enjoyed writing it. Know for the present time writing some word may be offensive.

Bangles: Okay woman, stop kissing!
Tallulah: But, Bangles it was only a smooch!
Bangles: Anyways have you gotten your engagement ring from Fat Sam.
Tallulah:  No, not yet, he is too drunk and busy to buy one.
Bangles: Well that's heartbreaking, no wonder why you looked shitfaced. (Some words may be offensive.)
Tallulah: Bangles! Don't you call me that I always look attractive and pleasing to boys!

Reflection: So I think I did well in creating the conversations. Next time I should include more things about the plot and ord from the script.

What are the latest fashions in 1920?

The fashion in 1920 is shorter and low waisted dresses and revealing style worn by flappers. Flappers were a generation of young western women who wore short skirts bobbed their hair, listened to jazz and flaunted their disdain for what was considered acceptable behaviour.

But women also wore a lot of other things here's a list:

• Below the knee length drop waist dresses with a loose, straight fit. 
• Beaded evening dresses inspired by the "Flappers".
• Mary Jane or T-Strap heels.
• Casual Sport gold knickers, argyle socks, blouse and tie. 
• Cocoon fur coats and fringe wraps. 
• Bead or feather headbands for evenings. 
• Long pearl necklaces, bold Art deco colours, faux gemstones

The 1920's were the sources of new, popular types of mass entertainment with radios, movies and sports heroes. The 1920's was also the time where silent movies were created. After World War 1 radios became a hit in houses, hundreds of radio stations were places around the country. There were also silent movies and has become a trend in the 1920's. 

1920's art was also a big hit. Replacing the elaborate style associated with the Victorian Era, the new movement in Art deco flourished during the 1920's. At this time major realist painters like George Luks continued to be popular alongside the new understanding of painting based on abstraction and reflection of nature.

What was it like in the homes of people and how did people treat each other?

Before the time of Alarm clocks and Siri, people still had to wake up early. In fact, there was a job called "knocker uppers" whose job was to wake up the other workers. If you were a seamstress back then, you were likely to spend most of your time putting together flashy flappers for female partygoers. Many jobs in 1920 are nothing like ours here is 3 example.

What were the roles of gender back in the 1920's?

Changing Roles:

The traditionalists feared the 'new morality'of the era was threatening the family values and the conventional role of women in the home. 

Role of Men 1:

Many fathers comprised the role of the breadwinner (A person who earn money to support their family) and spent more time away from their home as the economy strengthen and they gain more respectable careers. New Production technologies and work simplification undermined the traditional auto worker notions of manhood. 

Fathers knew best when it came to discipline and was still technically the head of the house.

Role of Women 2:
Women were starting to replace men in the workforce because they were less costly for the for the company. Appearance changed completely in the 1920 -1930 making it more accepted that women can be independent.

Women suffrage and the right to run for public office and vote address the fundamental issues of equity and justice to improve lives.
