The Water Cycle!

Hi everyone! Today I will share with you my procedural writing about the water cycle experiment. The experiment was about making our own mini water cycle on a zip lock bag. But the purpose of the writing was to show people how to make there own mini water cycle.

First, we had to make a draft then get feedback from our writing buddies, after that we do our final drafts and self asses our selves.

Here is my writing.

Title: Water Cycle Experiment

Purpose: To learn how the water cycle works and how it affects our world.

Materials:
  • 2 ziplock bags,(A4 sized)
  • 200ml of water
  • Soda water - 50ml
  • Litmus paper
  • Vivid Marker
  • Baking Soda
  • Blue Food colouring
  •   tape

Procedures:
Experiment A
  • Get a vivid marker and draw land with mountains and clouds.
  • Name each step of the water cycle.
  • Then add some water.
  • Then add some blue food colouring.
  • Put 20cm of double-sided tape.
  • Take off the side of the tape and set it inside a window facing the outside.
  • There you have the water cycle.
Experiment B
  • Get a vivid marker and draw land with mountains and clouds.
  • Name each step of the water cycle.
  • Add some soda water - 50ml.
  • Add some baking soda, 1 teaspoon.
  • Then add some blue food colouring
  • At the middle of your ziplock, it locks put a strip of litmus paper in the middle and zip.
  • Put 20cm of double-sided tape.
  • Take off the side of the tape and set it inside a window facing the outside.
  • There you have a water cycle with CO2 added. (Carbon Dioxide)

Conclusion:

This experiment tells us more about the water cycle and how it works. In the experiment it showed
us how the water cycle would normally work, while the other one showed us more about when CO2
is added to the water.

Feedback from my buddy Milan:
Well done Lyan, this was very specific and written well. You’ve explained a lot with the steps and
the conclusion, you’ve given the materials clearer so when I do the experiment I know how much
water or what ziplock bag I need because when I do experiments and there are no correct
measurements the experiment fails. With the steps next time make sure it and not bullet points.
This work is amazing and there is nothing else that you need to work on.

Final Draft:

  • Litmus paper
  • Vivid Marker

Delicious!

Hello everyone! Welcome to another post today I will be sharing with you the first activity we did on Wednesday CIP (Community Impact Projects). So we created a meal and a budget of $12 dollars, the meal has to be healthy and can be shared between six people. We also had to go in groups of 6 people, in my group were Alliah, Jolly Rose, Qyn, Faye and Kristille.

We decided we were going to make some spaghetti with some hot dogs. So before we went shopping we checked some online stores and look for the ingredients we need. Like sauce, pasta and more. Though we looked at the online shop in countdown the items were bought in Pak n' save which was way more cheaper than a countdown.

List/document for ingredients & for planning.

  4. Fry the chopped onion and garlic on a pan until it’s golden brown.
  5. Mix the sauce and some hotdogs on a pan.
  6. Prepare the plates and fork.
  7. Drain the spaghetti.
  8. Then put the spaghetti in a big plate/bowl
  9. Then neatly pour in the sauce mixture on top of the spaghetti.
  10. Grate cheese neatly on top of the spaghetti.

Reflection: I think our team did a great job planning and working as a team. Though we didn't buy the ingredients from the shop (our kind teacher did) due to us performing folk dances (Filipino Independence Day). I still think we did an amazing job cooking the spaghetti. Next time be more organized and have patience.

CONTINUE THE CRICKET!

Hello, amazing people, today I am posting the final writing for the rules for Continuos Cricket. I would like to thank my friend(s) for giving great feedback to improve my writing/rules. I have edited the rules and added more rules. Anyways here is my final draft!
Continuous Cricket Rules

Written by: Lyan De Guzman

Object

The object of the game is by hitting the ball and running, your team must get more than the other team.

Players

The class is divided into two groups.

Equipment

We are using the following Kiwi Cricket equipment:
  • 2x bats
  • 2x balls
  • 1x full wicket set (a stand and 3x wickets)
  • 2x spare wickets
  • 1x wicket stand

Scoring

Once you hit the ball, you must run into a side, you also need to return before the ball is thrown to the wickets. So that the batter won’t hit the wickets, and that means you won’t be able to go out.

Winning

You can win by getting the most runs, even if you did not hit the ball you can still run.

Rules

  • You can get someone out by catching the ball (if hit) on the full, or if the ball bounces once you have to catch it with one hand.
  • You have to switch the baller (the person who throws a ball) and the batter.
  • The teams must be divided and have an equal amount of students.
  • You must run even if you don’t hit the ball.
  • You have to run one way.
  • You have to throw underarm.
  • There has to be a wicketkeeper and a baller, each has to change to let everyone play.
  • The batting has to be at least 2-3 metres away.
  • The bowler must stay in the balling place, while the other players get the ball to pass to the baller.
  • If you get 3 people from the batting team out the batting team and bowling team must swap, and if the bowling team gets 3 people out from the batting team they again have to swap positions.
  • If you run you must put your bat over the wicket which is laid on the ground on each side of the main wickets.
  • Make sure to have fun!
  • Everyone must commit to playing the game.
  • If your team gets out and get back again you must stay in your previous position.
  • The winning team is the people who have the most runs.
  • Only the bowler can get the batter out.
  • To get the bowler out quicker, the fielding team must quickly get the ball and pass it to the bowler.
  • The fielding team must spread out so that they can catch the ball and get the batter out easier.
  • The bowler must be 7 metres away from the batter.
Reflective Comment: I personally think I did a good job with remembering all the rules and describing how to win, score and the objective of the game. Though the feedback wasn't enough (for me) I still think I have improved just a little bit.

Cricket Continuous?

Hello lovely people, I am very sorry to say that you have to see another post but here we are and there will be more. Anyways I have been lazy, but I'm alive, anyway, for today's post I will be telling you about the rules for Continuous Cricket.

So basically what I am saying is we have to retell the rules, how to win, objective of the game, how many players in a team, equipment, and how to score. For the writing, we had to do procedure writing and basically, that means write how the games work and procedure of the game.

Anyways here is my writing/first draft, it basically like filling out an answer sheet. If you know any more rules about Continuous Cricket, please do not hesitate to comment and tell me your feedback.

Reflective Comment: I think I did with remembering some of the rules, since a tenth of it are added things from my teachers list. But on top of that, I think I did  a good job. Next time I should have a more descriptive sentence.
