What did I do?

Kumusta everyone! Welcome to another post, today I will be self-assessing my reading work from last week. This is to show I understand what I am doing. I will be answering some questions and basically give myself some feedback.

1. Did I complete all of last week's tasks?
A. Yes, I did

2. What did I do well?
A. I think I did well by answering my partner's (Milan) questions, making my own questions of the chapter and drawing Mam.

3. Which activity challenged me the most?
A. When I was drawing Mam because I have already past the chapter where she was being described so I have to go back and skim over the pages.

4. What did I do about it?
A. I first went to my booklet which had the questions from each of the chapters and then looked through it to find chapters that were questioning what Mam may look like.

5. Which activity was the easiest for me?
A. Answering my partner's questions in chapter 1 & 2.

6. How can I extend myself next time?
A. Well, I think for the drawing I should add more colour and describe some items that the characters. Also, make the questions harder to make Milan (Partner) think about it.

Goodbye Term 1!

Hello people! Welcome to another blog post. The school holidays started just a week ago and I would just like to share what we did and how I felt about the first term. Well sit back and enjoy!

Term 1 was a stressful term since we were starting the year and we had a lot of tests. We did have a lot of activities including Athletics and Passion Projects and more.....

Maths:
For maths, our theme or what we were mainly focusing on was adding and subtracting, etc fractions, integers and decimals. It was a really fun thing to do and we also got to make DLO/Digital Learning. Also every Friday we got to play a very cool maths game called position 18, we had a challenge and we had to get the most wins, at the end of the term we would add up the scores and we would get an award. So the winners from this term were me, but there was another student who got the same score as me.


We didn't get to do much writing and for reading, we did some activities on a website called read works.

Home Chemistry: Hurumanu, Balloon Chemistry

Hypothesis: (What do I think will happen)
I think the chemical mix with the most gas is the baking soda and the vinegar. I think that it is the mix because I have personally tried it, and in my opinion, I don't think that the other ones would be that strong.

Materials:
  1.  Balloon 
  2.  Bottle 
  3. Funnel
  4.  Yeast 
  5.  Sugar 
  6.  Baking Soda
  7. Vinegar
  8. Salt
  9. Soda
Steps:
  1.  Grab a bottle, make sure it is empty and dry. 
  2.  Grab a Funnel and a balloon. 
  3.  Then Get the first two ingredients, Yeast and Sugar.  
  4.  Pour 2 tsp of the yeast and 1 tsp of sugar, make sure to pour it one at a time. 
  5.  Then wait for it to rise. 
  6. ~Next Experiment~ Repeat the first two steps, this time grab some baking soda and vinegar. 
  7. Pour in 3 tsp of Baking Soda in the balloon and 1/2 half cup of Vinegar in the bottle.
  8. Wait for the the gas to come up. 
  9. ~Next Experiment~ Repeat the first two steps, this time grab some salt and soda. 
  10. Pour in 3 tsp of salt in a balloon, and 1/2 half cup of soda.
  11. Like the other experiments wait for the gas to go up.

Conclusion:
In the first mix (Bottle A) we used 2 tsp of yeast and 1 tsp of sugar, in that we also used warm water to dissolve the mix. It took a really long time for the balloon to go up. It also made layers, one layer was with the yeast and sugar the second was with the water and the last was with the bubbles. Throughout it had made a layer were it was brownish coloured, it looked fluffy and it had a lot of bubbles. But the balloon didn't actually go up for our group.

In the second mix (Bottle B) we used 3 tsp of baking soda and 1/2 half of vinegar. We first put the baking soda in the balloon it was really hard to put it on the funnel if it is wet, that is why we just put it in the balloon. So then we put the vinegar in the bottle. Lastly we put the balloon in the bottle held the balloon up so as the baking soda would fall out. The gas went up fast and filled the balloon up, it was really big. 

In the last mix (Bottle C), here we used 3 tsp of salt and 1/2 cup of soda. The process is similar to the second mix, here we again put the salt in the balloon and the soda in the bottle. Then we again put it in the bottle and held it up for the salt to fall in the bottle. It wasn't as fast as the second mix but it still blew up the balloon.
