In the old days.....

Hello everybody! Welcome to another post today we had a really fun challenge, we had to pick any kind of topic, etc. basketball, clowns or fortnite. But the hard thing about this challenge was the time limit, we had 40 minutes. That's a lot of time but time was really running out. Fortunately, I finished in time, the thing is the people who finish in time goes in the draw to win a prize. For the challenge we had to make a DLO about our topic, my topic was about the history of music.

It had to include:

  • Tittle
  • 5 fun facts
  • Visuals
  • Link
Hope you learned something and have a great day!

Link #1: Introduction to ancient music.
Link #2: History of Music.

The Water Cycle!

Hello everyone! Today we learned about the Water Cycle! So we did an activity about how each phase of the water cycle connects with other events. Which we had to cut out from a piece of paper and then stick it on another paper where it will all be connected. After that, we then wrote some reasons why it connected and how it was connected with each other.

Scientific Words Used:
Precipitation: Precipitation is when clouds form heavy water and fall as sleet, drizzle, hail, snow and rain.
Condensation: When water vapour cools and molecules join together to form clouds.
Evaporation: When water is heated by radiant energy it turns into water vapour.
Transpiration: Evaporation from plants which then turns into evaporation.
 Pic #1:
Transpiration and Evaporation connect because transpiration means the evaporation of plants. Evaporation and water vapour connect because the evaporation will turn into water vapour. Evaporation and precipitation connect because of the water vapour which forms water that falls, etc. rain, sleet, hail and snow.
Transpiration, evaporation and precipitation all connect with the water cycle.

Pic #2:
Precipitation and condensation connect because the clouds that condensation makes then falls into precipitation.
Condensation connects to the water cycle because it is part of the water cycle.
Condensation and climate change both connect due to the heat or coldness of the cloud.
Climate change and hurricanes both connect because climate change can cause hurricanes.
Carbon dioxide and climate change both connect because carbon dioxide is needed for the climate to change.
Carbon dioxide and acid rain both connect because carbon dioxide causes acid rain.

HaHAhA!

Hahaha, welcome to another post. In drama, we are learning how laughing can help you feel healthy. I hope you enjoy and learn something.

How does laughing help us feel healthy?
Laughing can make you feel healthy because laughing makes you happy and giddy. Laughter relaxes decreases stress hormones resistance to disease. Laughing can also trigger the body's natural feel-good chemical. Laughter also protects the heart by improving the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow. Laughter may even help you live longer.

Examples - Funny live performances

Ex.1
Why is it funny?
It is really funny because te performers keep getting the routine wrong and their facial expression are very funny.

DRAMALAMALAMA

Hello everyone! Welcome to another post today I will be sharing the new subjects we are doing for Hurumanu, as some of you know my recent hurumanu was P.E and Music. Well, we have moved on from that and we are now doing Drama and Science. Though we have already done science before in Term 2 this Science and focusing on Earth (etc. Climate Change, Global Warming, Water Cycle.)

What are the key points?

Hello everyone! Welcome to another post today I will be sharing you the key points of a text I have read for reading. It is called ‘Underground Explorers’ it is talking about a cavers point of view of how they do things in the caves. The text is set in Mount Owen in the South Island’s Kahurangi National Park. Our task was to list the key points of the story and post it on our blogs. I hope you like my post and leave any feedback for me so I can improve in my work.

Title: Underground Explorers

KEY POINTS

  • It is a non-fiction story - meaning it is real, not fictional.
  • They are at Bulmer Cavern (in the belly of Mount Owen).
  • They were doing an experiment about the streams in the cave.
  • The experiment is about putting some dye in the stream of Bulmer Cavern.
  • They had a theory that water/stream in Bulmer Cavern was flowing through the mountain to Blue Creek Cave.
  • During their experiment, they give us knowledge about what Bulmer Cavern was like.
  • They talked about moon milk which is a type of substances that form in limestone caves.
  • For the experiment, they poured in some fluorescent dye into the faraway stream.
  • After less than 48 hours the dye flowed out and appeared in Blue Creek Cave.
  • They are suggesting the mystery water is steep and fast flowing.
  • It also gives us a little explanation of what cavers feel after getting out of a cave.
  • It also tells us what cavers do if bad weather hits.
  • To summarise it up the story is about how the Bulmer Cavern is like and how they discovered the mystery stream the flows through the mountain.

Well, I hope you enjoyed and learned something about cavers. Have a great day!
