Food and seeds?

Hello, people out there! Today is Wednesday and I am sure the people who visit this blog would know what we do every Wednesday. That's right, so if you don't know every Wednesday, my class and some other classes do some CIP (Community Impact Projects). Meaning we do things to make the world or the community a better place. So today we planted some seeds and did some research.

The research was about what plants we could plant during autumn and winter. Our teacher Mr Mitchell had seeds and we had to list out the types of vegetable we were going to plant. So I remember he had many types of flower (cauliflowers?) and all of them were vegetables. After that, we went out and planted it in an egg carton our amazing teachers had so ever kindly given us many egg cartons.

So what we did first was put the soil in the carton, then we put a hole in the middle for the seed to go in. But I didn't get to do that since I had to go to my dance. In my opinion, this was a really good idea because we use vegetables to fundraise and help out the community.

Hello people, it is Wednesday again so it is now time for Community Impact Projects. This time we are not going to the compost bin but we are doing some gardening. The gardening we are doing is to make our school a better place and also make the world a better place.

Today we were also gonna make plum jam! Except we were split into groups (2-3?), but the teachers didn't pick the groups, we had to literally pick between the groups ourselves. I chose to be in the research group. Where we would search up 6 different vegetables that we can plant in Autumn/Winter. The 6 vegetables I picked are:

1. Onions 
2. Cauliflower 
3. Spinach 
4. Brussel Sprouts
5. Broccoli 
6. Lettuce

After we did that we went and picked some of the rotten plums/plums that are on the ground from the garden. Though I wasn't there since I had Dance. We had to pick the plums because we want to make the school beautiful, it can also help the soil in the compost area.

WORMS!

Hello, again lovely people! It is again Wednesday, and every Wednesday we do Community Impact Projects. So starting off we picked some plums, our teachers had a great idea to pick the plums to make plum jam and sauce. But unfortunately, my class wasn't there since we had to go to another activity. So after that, we all went meaning all the classes went to the compost bin near the tennis courts.

There we had to clear/clean all the rubbish, pick out the weeds, plants and put them in the compost bin. There was a lot of weeds, my friends and I also found some potatoes and a lot of bugs. When we were picking the weeds out there was a specific plant that we had to save, the type of plant had white flowers and tiny berries. Which looked so cute, then there was a plant which was poisonous, so if you touch it with your hand and then you put your hand in your mouth you would be poisoned.

We spent a lot of time clearing out weeds, woods, garden waste, we also rake leaves to put it in the compost bin. After probably a whole hour we have finished. We collected many things after that we even got worms for the compost bin. If I say wasn't proud of myself would be a lie since there was a lot of dust and garden stuff.

OMG 5 DOLLARS!

Hello everyone welcomes to another post. This is again about Tane Mahuta, this week we cleaned up the compost bin and also cleaned up places near the edge of our school. We had to get a plastic bag and reuse them also use gloves to keep our selves clean. While we were cleaning people found worms, centipedes and spiders, I agree it was really cool. After that we washed our hands, that was after round 1 of picking rubbish up. I have got a picture of how much rubbish we got and it was a lot. Now, this was only at the compost bin, how many do you think are there in the whole school?

That's a lot, right? Anyways after that, we had a break/interval and then we were back to work this time we were cleaning the backfield, and there was a lot of rubbish inside the bushes. I even went inside, I probably picked 50 to 60 rubbish. Anyways after that, we moved to the edge of the school, and amazing things happened. So we were picking rubbish and my friend found a $5 dollar note, she told the teacher, but the teacher didn't take it so she got the privilege of keeping it. Someone also found a phone and an apple phone case.  We covered a lot of space and also picked a lot of rubbish. All in all, we had a great day and big achievements. Beautiful Nature.......

Hello lovely people, welcome to another post. This post is about some amazing activities we are doing at school. So every Wednesday we have Community Projects like, Ambassador, Health Promotion Leaders, Student Council etc, also we get to do some other activities the include our passion this was optional but I wanted to do dance. Anyways moving if you weren't in one of the activities you will be doing some other activities involving the community and improving how our school looks.

So in my group/classes, we did a community project called Tane Mahuta. On the first Wednesday, we looked at the school's backyard basically where are the gardens are, we got to pick plums to see cool trees that hold juicy and delicious fruit. So then we checked the parts of the school we haven't seen before and think of ways to improve those spots. These places have dried grass, rubbish, we even visited a compost bin at the back of the tennis court which had so much rubbish in it. Then we went back to the classroom and gathered up some ideas to make the perfect paradise and the world better.  Anyways here are a few of our ideas!

• Colourful Flowers 
• Trees 
• Fountain/Flowing Water, sea life can grow in (little fish)
• Hammock
• Tables (Made by students)
• Birdhouse 
• Fruits that are to be eaten
• Shade, when there are hot days student can hang out on the place.
• Plant native trees 

So that's all my ideas. This post was meant for last week, this is just to fill in the things you might not know.
