KICK the LONGBALL!!

Hello everyone! Welcome to another post today I will be reflecting on what on PE a few days ago, so we played some games and we reflected how well we did in the team.

This week in our P.E Hurumanu we have been…
  • (What): We have been trying to make our teamwork better.
  • Where: Gym
  • (Why): We did this to make students actually play and work with others that we don't normally work with.

S - Statement
E - Explanation
E - Example

Statement
Our first activity was Kick Longball For this activity, I rated my self as a 3

Explanation
To achieve level 4 we have to show that we can consistently: Make a contribution to the team, make sure to include everyone, also always encouraging everyone, and say positive words.

Example
During the first game of Long Kickball, I showed that I am working at level 3 by making a contribution to the team, actually playing and encouraging people to do a well. These examples show that I have met the standard for level 3.

Statement
Our second activity was Bench Ball For this activity, I rated my self as a 4

Explanation
To achieve level 4 we have to show that we can consistently: Make a contribution to the team, make sure to include everyone, also always encouraging everyone, and say positive words.

Example
During the first game of Bench Ball, I showed that I am working at level leading the team, by encouraging people to do better, leading the team and teaching them to be better players. These examples show that I have met the standard for level 2

Next week I am aiming to work at level 4 To make sure that I am working that level I am going to work on spreading positivity and helping other people do better at the games.

UnDer ThE SeA!

Hello everyone! Welcome to another post today I will be sharing a song I have made for my music hurumanu. So what we had to do write two verses and a chorus, but each of them has to be 4 lines long.  But first, we needed inspiration/idea, after that we needed to figure out how to tell a story. What I mean by that is every song has a story, for example, a song 'Titanium' tells a story about a person who is being bullied. A song also has at least one metaphor, another example is from the song Titanium the lyrics say 'I am Titanium!'. That is called a metaphor.

Now let's get one with the song...

Verse 1
Under the sea,
With creatures, unlike others that hunt and eat...
As deep as goes, as far as it is,
Its,
Under the sea...

Chorus
Far from normal
I am unlike others,
Who seems so strong and fierce,
Do you know who I am? (Talking)
I'm a seaweed!
Who is dancing highly from the ocean floor,

Verse 2
Right from the bottom,
You see me sometimes, Floating above the crystal waters,
Wishing I could swim, but I am held down,
Wishing I could, Wishing I could but held down...

Welp, that's the song I hope I didn't bore you. Right, a song is about seaweed as you have probably figured out, I wrote this because somehow tells what seaweed would probably feel like. No, I did become a seaweed this is just because I know that seaweeds weeds are held down on the ocean flow and they sometimes float around. Well, that's all, thank you for coming back to my blog. Bye!

Making what?!

Hello everyone! Welcome to another post, today I will be explaining the importance of 'Making Connections to Prior Learning'. Making connections is when we make connections to what we already know and the story/text. There are three kinds of connections we can make. This is what our learning outcome is.

Making Connections

  1. Text to self
This is when we connect the text/story to our own experiences.
Example: 'This part makes me think about when I lost the necklace, my Nan gave me. I know what it feels like to lose something precious.'

What the person is doing is connecting what happened in the story to what she has experienced.

     2. Text to World
This is when we connect what we are reading to things that really happen in the outside world.
Example: 'The boy in this story is running for school president. He is promising to organize lots of fun activities for students at lunchtime. This reminds of how politicians try to influence people to vote for the.

What the person is doing is connecting what she reading about to what is happening to the world.

     3. Text to Text
This is when we compare the text we are reading to similar texts. These texts could be books or visual texts such as a movie or a TV program.
Example: 'This character reminds me of Harry Potter. They are both boys who were orphans and got brought up by an aunt and uncle who were mean to them.'
