Summer Learning Journey 2019-2020 • Week 4 • Day 3 - Activity 2

Hi everyone! Welcome to another post! I hope you are having a great day so far! Today I will be doing another post for the Summer Learning Journey. If you did not know the Summer Learning Journey is a holiday programme. The main reason why it started is to prevent the Summer Slump. The Summer Slump happens when you fall behind in your learning. In my opinion, SLJ is a really great programme to do so that you can keep up with your work.

Lupita Nyong'o is a Mexican-Kenyan actress. She has starred in a number of films including Black Panther. She won an Oscar for her role in 12 Days a Slave. She was the first-ever Kenyan and/or Mexican woman to win the award.

Over the past few years, Lupita has continued to act, she hs earned a master's degree from Yale University and has written a children's book called Sulwe. She was also written and produced her own movies.

For this activity, we had to imagine that we had to the chance to write our own movie. We had to provide an overview of our movie, for example providing the name of our movie, the main events in the movie and the names of the main characters. We could also do this as a storyboard.

Because of that, she has gained many enemies and many allies.

But suddenly a war broke out. Elise was gifted with many things. Will she be able to solve this war and stop the bloodshed?

Activity 3: THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK

Anne Frank lived in Germany in the 1930s. This was the time of World War One. Her family was Jewish and they were forced to hide because the German politicians (Nazis) did not like Jewish people.

Ane and her family hid in one small room for two years. Anne kept a diary. At the end of the war, Anne's dad made it into a book.

For this activity, we had to imagine that we had a diary, in that diary we had to write a story about our most extraordinary day. What happened?
