Inspired Writing

Hi everyone! Welcome to another post today I will be sharing a sentence I have made while we were doing inspired writing. We had to write a sentence that was inspired by one of the pictures that were picked by students. Then we had to create 6 sentences:

  1. Write a simple sentence that describes something about the picture.
  2. Add adjectives to the simple sentence, to add more detail.
  3. Add more language features like similes or metaphors to enhance the sentence.
  4. Use topic words directly related to the picture.
  5. Use emotive language to create/clarify mood.Lear
  6. Paint a clear picture in the mind of my readers and give the reader detailed and specific information.
These were the things we needed to include in each sentence. We also had to highlight which specific subject we were writing. For example, we had to add adjective so that means we have to highlight all the adjectives.

Here is my writing:

  1. The woman stood on the edge of the rock.
  2. The woman closely stood at the edge of the large rock.
  3. The woman closely stood at the edge of the huge rock and underneath was a river that reflected like a mirror.
  4. The woman closely stood at the edge of the radged rock, where the morning sun shone over the brooding mountain where the river was like a mirror and above was various hills.
  5. The woman courageously stood closely at the edge of the radged rock, where the morning sun shone over the brooding mountains where the rive was like a mirror.
The courageous woman, Raine, stood at the edge of the radged rock where she focuses her body and mind, as the time passes by the sun was now shining over the brooding mountains that reflect on the river like a mirror.

This was the picture that I used to write my sentences.

After writing and highlighting the sentences we then had to use an e-asTTle rubric to rate our writing. I think I would be an R5. Because I used emotive language to describe how the woman may have felt, I painted a clear picture in my reader's head about what the picture may look like.

Emotions

Hi everyone! Welcome to another post, today in drama we learned about emotions, what it is and describe how we feel. Like for example right now I feel calm and happy.

What are emotions?
Emotions are feelings that impact on your thoughts and behaviour. It also is associated with your personality, mood and motivation. Like when you feel sad you have no motivation to move or do anything.

We also show emotion with our bodies. For example, when you're watching a horror movie and a scary person suddenly popped up, some people may flinch, and some people may not.

In that drama lesson, we also did an animation or a performance on our bio poems which you will know about in this video.

What is inferring?

Hi everyone! Welcome to another post, today I will be doing a post about inferring, what it is and what it is used for. Inferring means reading between the lines, some of you probably have heard this while in primary but didn't know what it is.

Reading between lines is when the author intends to give out some kind of information but that information so you have to look for information in that text along with you're own knowledge. I think that in fictional stories it is easier to infer information rather than non-fictional stories because in non-fictional stories it is stating real information.

A way to infer information is by writing down some literal information, meaning information that is 'right there'. Then you can infer something from that information.

Ex.

From the inferred part it says she was nervous this is because her mouth was dry and she had a big knot in her stomach. In my opinion, I would class that as being nervous, because sometimes when I get nervous my mouth goes dry.
