SEXXXY Paragraphs - Lighting and Colour
The real world:
In this scene from Coraline lighting and colour are used to create a cold and distant feeling. This is demonstrated when natural light was showed during Coraline's scene in her room. This makes us understand that Coraline is a very lonely person and her real parents seldom pay attention to her. This was done to highlight that Coraline is alone and that the other world is better than the real world. This worked well with the setting because there weren't many things that decorated her room and it was very gloomy outside. This scene can be compared to a scene later in the movie where Coraline was in the other world with her other parent in the same room. Rather than having a cold and distant feeling, the other one had a more warm and homey feeling.

The other world:
In this scene from Coraline lighting and colour was used to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We see this when artificial light surrounds the room as Coraline her and other parents enter. This shows that the other world is better the real world because Coraline is more welcomed and loved in the other world. The purpose of this scene was to show that the other world was a better place to live in for Coraline. Coinciding with the scene was the camera shot showing the room as Coraline and her other parents enter, it showed off the decorations making it seem like they worked hard to decorate her room. This reminds me of a scene earlier in the film where Coraline was about to sleep in her room in the real world, rather than having an artificial light the other scene had a natural light that creates a cold and distant feeling.

Sustainability Term 2
Hi everyone! Welcome to another post. Term 2 is currently coming to an end and for sustainability, we were told to create 2 paragraphs, one was a summary of our learning and another one, reflecting in our learning.
When we started this hurumanu watched interesting documentaries about coronavirus and sustainability. After watching the documentaries we then looked at 360࿁ videos showing animals and landmarks around the world. In the following sessions, we then shifted our focus onto maths, we learned about statistical inquiry and why collecting data is important. Next, we moved on to learning about sustainability, aspects of sustainability and some natural resources. Then we learned how to construct paragraphs and sentences some sustainability issues. We continued writing paragraphs and researching on sustainability issues. In the remaining weeks, we again shifted our focus onto maths, this time learning about measurement. Our last activity was creating a dream room, house or property on a 3D scale.
I really liked my experience in sustainability because I got to learn about the world, how to construct paragraphs and how to collect data. I also learned how to get the area, perimeter and volume of 2D and 3D shapes. I especially enjoyed writing paragraphs about sustainability and completing maths activities on mathletics. So to sum it up I really liked term 2 sustainability, therefore I would not like to change anything.

Heart Dissection
🛈 - Information
The heart is important because, without our heart, the brain wouldn't work. The heart pumps the blood around the body, the blood that it pumps out carries many nutrients and oxygen.
Heart Diagram: A diagram of the parts of the heart.
- Arteries: Arteries are a blood vessel that takes the blood away from the heart.
- Veins: The veins take the blood back to the heart.
- Atrium: The Atrium is the upper chamber of the heart that receives blood.
- Ventricle: The ventricle is a V - shapes cavities that push the blood into the arteries to take it away from the heart.
- Vena Cava: The vena cava is a large vein carrying deoxygenated blood from the body to take to the heart. - Deoxygenated means that it does not carry oxygen. -
- Aorta: The aorta is the main artery that carries the blood away from the heart to the body.
- Right Side of Heart: Deoxygenated blood enters the right atrium from a vein called Vena cava, the blood is then pumped to the right ventricle. The right ventricle then pumps it to the lungs to get oxygen
- Left Side of Heart: Like the right side of the heart blood enters the left atrium but this blood is oxygenated, which means it carries oxygen with it. Then the atrium pumps it to the left ventricle, after that the left ventricle pumps the blood to the body to deliver oxygen.
- Valves: Valves are gates that only go one way. They open up to let blood flow to the ventricle, it then closes so that blood doesn't flow back out.
- Heart Strings: The heartstrings are strong fibres that hold the valves in place.
My opinion:
I really liked dissecting a heart, it was very fun and I learned a lot of new things about the heart. I especially liked when we cut the side of the heart because it just looked so satisfying and professional.
