Te Paint

Hello people! Today I am writing about what we did at Japanese last week, I know I should have done it last week. Anyways we did some calligraphy. What is calligraphy you may ask? Well here is what Google says:

'Calligraphy is a visual art related to writing. It is the design and execution of lettering with a broad tip instrument, brush or other writing instruments. A contemporary calligraphic practice can be defined as "the art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious and skilful manner"

Meaning writing letters in a fancy way. But for Japanese, we did Japanese calligraphy where you have to write a Japanese character in a fancy/artistic way. Anyways, here are some pictures of what I have drawn.

The paint we used for this was Indian paint, it is the paint that is used for calligraphy in modern days. In the old day's ink was in blocks, so to use the ink, you have to use water. So what they would do is put a little bit of water on a stone then rub the block on the stone to make the ink. Anyways that is all for now, Bye!
