Live Aid | Music Through Time

Hi everyone! Welcome to another post, today in social studies we have started our final unit. For this unit, we are learning about Live Aid. We learned about the main organisers of the event and a song that represented the life of people in Ethiopia. 

Organizers
Bob Geldof is a famous singer and musician who is the lead singer of the punk rock band, Boomtown Rats. The band was famous for their hit single, 'I don't Like Mondays'. He was part of the major organizers behind the Live Aid concert at Wembley.

Midge Ure is a famous musician, singer-songwriter and producer who is a part of many bands, but the more famous ones that he was a part of was the band, Ultravox. Together with Bob Geldof both were part of the major organizers behind the Live Aid concert, they also worked together to write the song 'Do They Know It's Christmas'. 

Do They Know It's Christmas 

This song was written by both Bob Geldof and Midge Ure that shows how the life of the people living in Ethiopia. They are asking if they know that tomorrow is Christmas, it was written after Bob Geldof visited Ethiopia in hopes to find out more about the situation in Ethiopia.
