Summer Learning Journey 2018-2019 l Week 3 l Day 5 - Activity 2

Hello again, whoo! I am on a role today just finished my dinner and I am full so far this is my 4th post today. Anyways hope you're having great holidays! Enjoy!

WEEK 3: Up, Up and Away

DAY 5: Here to StayActivity

2: Changing Climates [4 points]

Over the past decade, the climate in New Zealand (and around the world) has been changing. In fact, the climate has been getting warmer and warmer. While many of us like warm weather, climate change is not good news. Higher temperatures can cause glaciers to melt (leading to flooding) and increase the amount of rain that falls.
Here in New Zealand, we have noticed the change. In fact, we sometimes have torrential (huge) rain storms causing flooding, landslides and road closures. When it starts to rain really hard, Aronui and I usually hide out in our lounge and play games like Yahtzee, Monopoly and Uno. If it rains all day, we will also spend some time reading, watching movies and baking.
What about you? What do you like to do on a rainy day?
On your blog, tell us about five things that you like to do when it is too rainy to go outside.
My favourite things to do on rainy days are:
  • Read Books (All-Day)
  • Cooking/Baking
  • Dance/Playing with my sister
  • Post Things on my blog
  • Hang out with my Family
  • Play Games - Games on Phone and Board Games (Bonus)
Fun Fact: I have learned and posted something about Climate Change and Global Warming. Please go check it out to learn cool things! Link

  1. Hi Lyan,

These are great ideas for things to do on a rainy day. It's lovely to be able to read a book all day - you can really get into the story can't you?! Do you get books out of the library? What do you like to read?

My husband gave be the autobiography of Michelle Obama for Christmas. I have just started reading that and I'm really enjoying it!
