DAY 2: CRACKING THE CODE
Activity 1: THROUGH CAREFUL INVESTIGATION
There are many incredible people in history who have changed the world. Some have changed what we know about the world and about how it works. We often call these people `scientists` or `theorists.` Famous scientists include Sir Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Katherine Freese, Mari Goeppert Mayer and Sau Lan Wu.
Each of these scientists came up with a new theory (idea) about how things work. Much of what they discovered came from observing (watching) things closely.
For this activity, we had to select either one of the pictures displayed and to study/observe it closely. (What di you see?) We had to describe the painting in detail.

I chose the second picture because it reminded me of two worlds clashing against each other. To me, the birds look like its crossing between two different worlds. The lighter world has a very lively town with an aura of happiness while the darker side feels gloomy and the aura is dark. The fields surrounding the town feels like it goes on forever. I feel like the art is telling us to treat everyone write and even though they are not the same as everyone else, we have to treat them the right way. I really like the picture because there is so much detail, it feels very magical and mysterious at the same time.
Hi Molly! Thank you for your comment, I will check on the picture and fix it. Once again thank you for your comment!
ReplyDeleteHi Lyan!
ReplyDeleteGreat choice! MC Escher painted that picture and also did some other amazing art such as this, the drawing hands: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drawing_Hands#/media/File:DrawingHands.jpg
I really love how you have talked about how the art makes you feel and what you think it’s about, I think that you are right that it is trying to tell us that we should treat everyone right, and equally.
Next time you could even include a range of other pictures of this artist to compare to this work :)
Keep up the amazing posts!
