Hi everyone! Welcome to another post. I hope you are having a great day so far. Today I will be doing another activity for the Summer Learning Journey. Enjoy!
DAY 3: INVENTIVE INVENTORS
Activity 1: NANOGIRL
Michelle Dickinson, AKA "Nanogirl", is a nanotechnologist. That is an engineer or scientist who works with very small items called "molecules." Michelle is a famous for creating cool shows about science which she performs in schools around New Zealand. When she isn't performing, she is working as a scientist in her own lab in Auckland. Over the years she has written two books and won many awards including the New Zealand Women of Influence in Innovation and Science Award and The New Zealand Order of Merit for her innovative work.
Like Michelle, many people in New Zealand like to create nano-sized (tiny) things. Some people even like to build tiny houses.
For this activity, we had to go to a site named `Build Tiny New Zealand`, after we scroll down to the bottom of the page where we will find a series of Video Tours of tiny houses. After that, we then had to explain whether we would like to live in a tiny house or not.

I would like to live in a tiny house because in the videos that I saw the design is very nice and modern. Also because I like little spaces because then I don't have to move around a lot and there is a lot of space to store other stuff.
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Hi Lyan!
ReplyDeleteIt would be awesome living in a tiny house! I actually know someone who builds them for a living, how cool is that! You can see this video if you are interested more about how they are built https://vimeo.com/238326129
Next time you could include lots of pictures of what you are writing about, this lets us readers see exactly what you are talking about :)
Keep up the great work!
Gabe
